API OPERATING GUIDE

Budget outbound transfer for an API

Measure response size, cache behavior and scheduled exports before treating a monthly transfer allocation as sufficient.

Write the decision before changing the system

This guide is a planning exercise for an application operator. It does not represent a PrivacyNodes deployment, support action or measured customer result. Measure representative response bodies, cache hits, downloads and scheduled exports separately. Multiply only by a stated workload assumption, then leave a reserve for releases, retries and incident investigation.

Rehearse the change with controlled inputs

Watch actual transfer over a defined period and compare it with the catalogue allocation. Database disk, object storage and network transfer are separate budgets even when one feature makes all three grow.

Use synthetic requests and test identities while checking the change. Do not expose secrets or customer data in a command, log excerpt or support note.

Verify the outcome and record the remaining limit

Reduce unnecessary payloads or move a large export to a deliberate workflow before changing a plan. Confirm overage terms with the owner; none are asserted here.

Capture UTC time, artifact or configuration revision, redacted symptoms and the next owner.
